The skeg had been treated badly to get the propshaft out. Possibly a design mistake. The propshaft shoud be a bit offset from vessel centerline. Now I have to install shaft from inside meaning the engine had to be lifted "each" time...

Well I won't sail with this bubbly rudder skeg - so get the tourch!
Inside the skeg: I was prepared for the worst but I got pleased with what I saw. Pictures tell it all! As Made Yesterday!

Right picture takes inside down. Only scrap from cutting and no rust!
The cockpit is now drained down into a 90 mm/~4" standpipe. This tube will be isolated with an internal heating cable to prevent ice plugg during winter.
Done! Rudder in place! Big Milestone!

The rudder berings is all in some expensive plastic stuff even the lower radial one. No grease needed (no wanted!).
It's easy to turn the rudder by hand gripping the rudderpost. :-)

The rudder is electrically isolated from the hull to avoid corrosion in the water. Must remeber to isolate the steering wirecables to.

I will install some voltmeters to have constant control of the galvanic situation in the rudder and hull.
