A nice little windlass to the Coffey anchor.
Fulfilling the plan from 2005 (!?) a electric windlass is finally inplace. :-) Fits tight with the "arm" for the anchor. The arm lets the anchor reach outside of the swim platform and the are is foldeble so it's more out of the way.
Drilling, jigsaw, file, file, file - repeat 2 hours - and done.
The deck is 5 mm thick so it's a decent job.
Painting two layers of epoxy of course. So during the three days it took the small iron dust particles started to coloring everything brown. "Stain remover" from International is a simple and easy way to remove these stains.
So now Fiona has it's 19Kg Delta anchor with 30 meter of 8 mm ISO chain and another 20 meter of 14 mm line.
Thats the largest sizes the windlass can handle.
Well enough for a short time lunch-coffey-dog-ashore anchoring.
From the windlass to the main batteries there is a distance of 8 meters.
As we need all power/current that we could get so I placed a new battery far aft in the cabin. It will save money or rather pay for the battery as thick cables are so expensive.
Remote control, heavy duty relay, DC-DC converter and battary 70 Ah (?) was mounted far aft under bunk.
Charging current from DC-DC is max 8A so can't re-anchor to much...
